Exelin was established in 1960 when three chemists started to produce Electronic detonators to explosives.Company EXEL is leaded from Explosive Eletronics.

In year 1970 Exel started to produce sport equipments.

1973 Cross country poles production starts.
1976 Cross country poles success break thru at Innsbruck Olympic games.
1992 Floorball shaft production starts. Also shaft production for golf clubs and alpine skiing poles stars.
1995 Prostick-brand for Exel.
1996 Icehockey sticks production starts. Also Baseball batt's production started.
1997 Power Magic - icehockey goalie gear brand for Exel. Nordic walking was created by Exel.
2007 Exel floorball signs 4 year main sponsor contract with IFF.
2008 Finnish national floorball team wins first World Champion title with Exel floorball equipments.
2010 Finnish national floorball team wins second World Champion title with Exel floorball equipments.
2010 Exel Floorball licence for E-Sports Group Oy.
2011 All Exel Sports Brand licences for E-Sports Group Oy. E-Sports Group Oy manufacturers floorball equipments, Cross-country poles & equipment, Nordic walking poles & equipments, Alpine poles & equipments and Trecking poles & equipments. E-Sports Group Oy is licence holder for brands Exel, Canadien, Precision, ProStick and Christian.

2013 Curve pole technology was launched at international sports fair ISPO Munich 2013.

2014 Iivo Niskanen won Olympic gold in Sochi with EXEL poles.

2014 Curve patent in Europe.
